Repeat prescriptions

Please ensure you have filled in our consent for patient services form:  For Online use – Consent for for Patient Services-website

How to order a repeat prescription

You can request a repeat prescription by:

  • completing the right-hand section of your previous prescription form and popping a request into our red letter box situated on the ground floor.
  • you can also request a repeat prescription online using Patient Services. You need to register to use our online repeat prescription ordering service. Please speak to one of our receptionists or find registration information on our Online Services page.

When will my prescription be ready?

Please allow 72 hours for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Orders submitted after 3.30 pm will not be processed until the following day. If a chemist collects your prescription on your behalf please allow them extra time from collection to have this ready for you.

Acute prescriptions (Special Requests)

You can also request an acute ‘one off’ prescription. This is called a special request and this will be passed to a GP who will decide if your request can be dealt with without seeing a doctor. Please note that sometimes repeat medications needs to be reviewed before these are reissued. These are passed to the GP for authorisation and are therefore treated as a special request.

You can make special requests in the same way you can order repeat prescriptions.

Medication reviews

We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment.
