IMPORTANT ASKMYGP UPDATE!

To improve the service our patients, receive, we will be changing how we use askmyGP from Monday 5th June. Our aim is to provide you with an appointment date and time, rather than the current system of waiting around for a response. We would hope this will be a much more satisfactory service for our patient’s

All requests submitted will be triaged by our on call GP and you will be allocated an appointment based on the information provided. It is important that you provide as much information as possible when submitting your request, to allow the GP to assess which type of appointment you require, such as telephone, face to face, or on the day e-mail consultation reply. This may be different to what you request. This appointment will be with a GP or another appropriate health care professional in the practice e.g. ANP (advanced nurse practitioner) or pharmacist, treatment room nurses or practice nurse etc. Please be aware we may also direct you to another service out-with the practice such as community pharmacy, podiatry or physiotherapy. You may be asked for more information before we can allocate an appointment to you. Some requests will still be dealt with by email if appropriate. Unfortunately, GP’s do not have the capacity to answer minor questions/enquiries or early minor ailments management, and we would appreciate your understanding in this regard. Pharmacy first continue to see and treat minor ailments.

As always, the most urgent cases will be allocated first. If your request is routine, you will have to wait appropriately and the GP will have taken this into consideration. If you know you need a routine appointment or review, then please ensure you submit your request at least a few weeks in advance.

Patients will be emailed back with an appointment date and time. Please reply as soon as possible to confirm your attendance. If you do not reply within 24 hours, your appointment may be cancelled and you will have to re-submit your request.

To allow this change over to happen, we will need to keep askmyGP closed from Monday 22nd May until Monday 5th June. Please contact the practice as soon as possible as per usual and your request will be catered for as per appointments available that day. As per usual, all emergency cases will still be triaged by our on call GP. We appreciate this is frustrating, but we need this time window to buffer the switchover process, to improve the service for the future.

Insurance Lines can still be requested through askmyGP when it is closed but this is for lines only, any medical questions will not be actioned, please contact the practice direct to be placed on the list.

We thank you for your patience
